Ivancovich Funds: Temporary Closure Notice
At this time, awards granted through the Ivancovich Family Student Life Fund are on pause. We understand the importance of these awards and appreciate your patience. Our team is actively working to explore additional funding options.

The Ivancovich Family Student Life Fund provides critical and flexible funding to support SCU students with the greatest need. These grants have no repayment obligation. The fund provides temporary, one-time funding for students to address an unexpected, unforeseen, or unavoidable emergency expense.
The Ivancovich Family Student Life Fund supports:
- Participation in campus life programs that require funds to participate, such as service-learning experiences, student events (e.g., Into the Wild trips, Senior Gala, Grad Bash), club sports or immersion programs
- Basic Needs support (e.g, food, transportation, housing security)
- Unexpected or extenuating financial challenges
Other examples of expenses the fund covers:
- Assistance with basic needs for student, including food and transportation
- Housing security (e.g., threat of eviction or displacement due to unsafe, unhealthy, or unpredictable living conditions)
- Assistance with technology purchases to assist with academic needs or requirements
- Books or costs related to course instruction or participation
- Emergency travel
- Unexpected or extenuating financial challenges or changes in finances
- Unexpected modest medical or dental expenses
- Support during emergency situations (e.g., theft, natural disaster, death in family, etc.)
The Ivancovich Family Student Life Fund will not provide funding to the following circumstances:
- Students with additional financial resources or benefits are available (e.g., financial aid or grant eligibility, which can be used first).
- Payment for expected or planned expenses that may be incorporated into budget planning (e.g., SCU tuition and fees, car insurance, car payments).
- Payment of parking tickets, parking permits, legal fees, or fines.
- Non-essential utilities (e.g., cable, cell phone bill) and household needs.
- Debt (e.g., credit card, personal, student loan, family, medical).
Please note: If a student requests financial support for any ineligible expense(s), these expenses will be removed from consideration. If the request does not include a request for eligible items the request will not be approved.
Eligibility
- To be eligible to receive support through the Ivancovich Family Student Life Fund and Student Emergency Grant Program, students must:
- Be currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program at Santa Clara University
- Demonstrate immediate financial need, which may include sudden or unexpected changes in circumstances
- Students may be directed to use additional financial resources or available benefits (e.g., financial aid or grant eligibility) before receiving awards through the grant.
- Although the Office of Student Life attempts to provide students with as many resources as possible, requests may not be fully funded and requests may not be approved.
Request Process
- To submit a submission request for the Ivancovich Family Student Life Fund please submit a request form. A response to the request will be provided within two business days to acknowledge receipt of the request. You may be asked to submit additional information to support the review of your request. Please note: Submission of a request does not guarantee an approval or award of funds. You may also be directed to other SCU resources.
- Based on the request, you may be asked to meet with a member of the Dean of Students Office to better understand your request. Please note: Review of the request may take up to two weeks, depending on the complexity of the request.
- The request will be reviewed and receive one of the following decisions:
- Request Approved with Funds Awarded
- Request Not Approved
- Request Deferred to other Resources
- A Decision Letter will be sent to the individual requesting funds to communicate the outcome.
- If request if approved, funds will be disbursed through the Student Account via Financial Aid
- Select instances may use other distribution methods.
