Ian Carter-O'Connell with the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department has received a $507,796 award from the National Institutes of Health to support his project "Defining the Biochemical Function and Therapeutic Utility of Unique PAEP14 and PARP15 ADP-Ribosylation Sites".
Project will be focused on determining the extent of auto-ADP-ribosylation on a series of poly-ADP-ribose polymerases (PARPs 13, 14, and 15) and their roles in viral infection and the immune response. We will also be focused on developing new peptide mimetics to study the proximal factors that guide target selection.
